TECHNOLOGY ~ JUST USE IT!
Welcome to my website. I'm Jalisa Milligan, a third grade teacher and
member of the technology team on the elementary campus.
As a member of the technology team, our mission
says it all! TECHNOLOGY ~ JUST USE IT! Whether you
are just starting to use technology in your classroom,
or an advanced user, our mission is for everyone to
integrate technology again this upcoming school year. Another one of our goals is to become a Google School. This has been hard for me since I'm such a Microsoft person, but I'm trying really hard to learn Google Apps. With the upcoming implementation of Common Core, we will be expected to do more Project Based Learning. What better way to do this than have students creating projects of what they've learned using technology? That is my plan to integrate technology in my classroom through digital storyboards, iMovies, and creating Comic Book Strips. I've learned, as educators we should be allowing our students to be creative and productive in technology. IPad use should go beyond just using for drill and skill purposes. So, last year my students did little iMovie trailers and it's amazing what they can do with just a little instruction. They made movies documenting our field trip to Blanchard Springs and created several iMovies to share with parents at Parent Night. So teachers, if you need a little help getting started this school year with iPad Projects just e-mail me and I will try to help. I've also listed some great sites that are very helpful, and you can find a YouTube video on just about any type of app you want to know how to use! Using technology in our classrooms should be student-centered. Here are a few apps for students to try that are fun and easy!
